About the Brand

Since the 1980’s we’ve been settling for stale protein bars in wrappers made with poor-quality ingredients and unhealthy processes & preservatives. Most are nothing more than a glorified candy bar, far from personalized to your taste & nutrition needs.

Karen Nation, Founder and Certified Sports Nutrition Specialist, whole-heartedly understands that taste & nutrition are not one size fits all. After years of settling for expensive, stale bars full of sugars, preservatives, and ingredients she didn’t want, Karen started to make her own homemade bars instead. Her clients loved her recipes and wanted to make their own too (for the same reasons we all love making our own smoothies: fresher, healthier, more delicious, and customizable). But, unfortunately, there wasn’t an easy way to DIY bars & bites. So Karen set out on a mission to change that!

FAQ

Can I use margarine instead of butter?
  • No. Please do not sub margarine for butter in our No-bake Cookie Mix (or other mixes). Margarine is highly processed oil which usually liquifies and causes the dough to be gooey. Margarine does not solidify your cookies when chilled like butter, ghee or even Vegan Butter does.
What should I add to the mix?
  • We recommend starting with the “original recipe” on our package. If you love peanut butter, then that is likely in your pantry and what you’ll love most in your bars & bites :). You can also check out our Recipe Blog and Instagram for more inspiration!
What if I added too much liquid?
  • Ooops, not to worry. Here are a few easy solutions: Add Rolled Oats (try 1/4 to 1/2 Cup) Or add Coconut Flour (a little goes a long way, so try a spoonful at a time) Or place in a sealable container and allow to firm up in the fridge or freezer.
What if my balls are crumbly when I roll them?
  • That means they need more water. Add 1 to 2 Tbls additional water, and mix thoroughly. Compress the dough in your hands before rolling.
What if my dough is sticky?
  • Depending on what you add, some situations may be stickier than others. To avoid the dough sticking to your hands, you can chill it for 15 to 20 minutes before rolling, or rub coconut oil on your hands, or use a cookie scoop instead.
What is the best way to press protein bars?
  • Here are a few options depending on what you keep in your kitchen… Press the bar dough using a spatula, your hands, a pizza roller, or a full-sized rolling pin. You can do this on any clean, flat surface like: parchment paper, foil, silicon mat, cutting board, cookie sheet, or inside a sealable container.
