Eating processed sugar is like putting poison into your body, especially in the quantities that are found in most processed foods. Here at Just Real Foods, our focus is on using the earth’s sweetness from produce or honey. Added sugars can lead to obesity which in turn, leads to heart disease, diabetes, Alzheimer’s, and cancer. This is why we pride ourselves on leaving added processed and refined sugars out of our recipes, while still delivering a great tasting product that your taste buds will be quite happy with. We do add honey and/or pure maple syrup to our granola to bind the nuts and seeds to form crunchy clusters, but both are highly concentrated so we don’t need to add much, AND both have high levels of nutrients and anti-oxidants.

If you can’t pronounce it, why eat it? Many of the ingredients in our food system sound like they belong in a chemistry laboratory. We believe that your food should be comprised of everyday ingredients that you not only know and love but can also pronounce. That is why we load our products with plant-based foods such as walnuts, almonds, shredded coconut, flaxseeds, cinnamon, apple, pecans, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds.

Many food companies today attempt to trick their customers into thinking they are consuming fewer calories than they actually are simply by shrinking the serving size. We are true to our word and strive to tell you our nutritionals based on a “real” serving. Not a serving that will barely satiate your appetite.
