LonoLife: Bone Broths

If you follow the Paleo Diet, you know a thing or two about bone broth.  This nutritional powerhouse has become one of the Paleo movement’s staple beverages, and has even gained traction with mainstream foodies. It’s easy to see why! Bone broth is full of muscle-building collagen and works to help heal your digestive system. But, best of all, it tastes great!

But despite all the benefits, bone broth is a huge pain to make. Who’s got time to source grass fed bones, boil them for 24 hours, and then season them to perfection?

That challenge is what led the LonoLife team to head into the kitchen and look for a solution.

LonoLife Products include:

Chicken Bone Broth

Crafted from hearty roasted bones, fresh vegetables and herbs such as chicory root, sage and thyme, our Chicken Bone Broth is packed with 8 grams of collagen-rich protein and 3 grams of fiber per serving.

We take pride in providing a convenient and authentic bone broth for your on-the-go lifestyle. Our 100% recyclable K-Cups fit in most single serve beverage brewing systems, such as Keurig*, and our Stick Packs need nothing but a hot cup or bowl of water.

Ingredients: Chicken Bone Broth, Chicory Root, Yeast Extract, Salt, Natural Flavors, Black Pepper, Sage, Thyme

LonoLife was created to blend ancient healing and nourishing wisdom with 21st century convenience. We are the innovators of amazing-tasting single serve bone broths, regular broths and Protein Coffee.

The Lonolife Team

We were so excited when we had our first idea for a healthy, convenient snack: soup in a K-Cup. But we soon realized that to fuel our customer’s and that of our own extremely active lifestyles--our founding team includes recreational surfers, a former professional wakeboarder, a Crossfit junkie, and an avid runner--soup wouldn’t cut it, we needed a superfood that would help our aging bones stay strong.

As a team of food and beverage entrepreneurs, we decided that what all people living the Paleo lifestyle (or just healthy-minded, active people in general) needed was not more soup, but super soup: Paleo bone broth. But we realized to make bone broth like a prehistoric clan made it is out of reach for most people with busy lives. That’s why we got to work, perfecting a great-tasting powdered, single-serve, bone broth.

We realized our customers don’t always have time to run into a health food store, buy liquid broth and heat it up. You’re too busy for that. You need bone broth on the go, on the way to work, for as a pre- or post-workout snack, or to refuel at the office. That’s the bottom line of why LonoLife was created: for your busy, active and healthy lifestyle.

The LonoLife team is comprised of a husband and wife; a father and son; childhood best friends; Paleo enthusiasts; coffee roasters and avid athletes. We have pooled our diverse talents and passions to make incredible-tasting bone broth and collagen protein products.

The secret to our success is the diversity and strength of our ‘ohana,’ which means ‘family’ in Hawaiian. But not like the nuclear family as you might think of it. Rather, ohana is a community of like-minded individuals, and our ohana embraces respect for native cultures, a healthy, active, sustainable lifestyle and respect for one another.

We welcome you to our ohana. May you live a long, healthy, active life!

Chicken Bone Broth

Chicken Bone Broth - Lonolife - Paleo Friendly - Paleo Foundation Ingredients: Chicken Bone Broth, Chicory Root, Yeast Extract, Salt, Natural Flavors, Black Pepper, Sage, Thyme

What is Bone Broth?

Answer: Bone broth is a nutrient-dense savory stock made from simmering bones, meat, and vegetables in water for an extended period of time. The easy-to-digest liquid is packed with proteins and fiber that contribute to a number of different health benefits which have been said to improve joint health, repair collagen, nourish hair, skin & nails, while also improving digestive and immune systems. Our Old World savory flavors will nourish both your body and your soul. For best results, make it a part of your daily healthy ritual.

What is collagen? Why is it important?

Answer: Collagen is the most abundant protein in your body. Of all the many thousands of proteins your body has, about 30% are collagen proteins. Think of collagen as the glue that holds your whole body’s structure together, including your skin, gut lining, bones and joints. Frequent stress and the natural aging process degenerates levels of collagen in your body. To combat this degeneration consuming amino acids, found in bone broth or collagen protein, encourage the reformation of collagen.

Do I need collagen protein or bone broth if I eat healthy?

Answer: Even if you eat a huge salad with organic greens every day and strictly limit your sugar and processed food intake, you’re most likely not consuming enough amino acids to supply your cells with what they need to encourage collagen regeneration. Moreover, even the healthiest veggies do not contain enough of the specific amino acids your body needs. Lonolife products, specifically our collagen protein and bone broths, contain a copious amount of amino acids to rebuild collagen which improves joint health, nourishes hair, skin and nails while also improving immune and digestive systems.

What is the difference between meat and collagen-rich bone broth?

Answer: Eating plenty of meat, even if it’s from grass-fed cows or organic, pasture-raised chickens doesn’t provide you with enough of the specific amino acids to support the synthesis of collagen formation in your body. If that were the case, bone broth and other products with animal collagen would not be necessary. Collagen does not come from the parts of meat you typically eat - it is naturally produced within the bones, muscles and skin themselves and becomes soluble in water when cooked over long periods of time. That slow cooking process is how we make our amazing tasting bone broths and Protein Coffee.

What are the health benefits of bone broth and collagen protein?

Answer: Collagen is vital for your health. Stress and aging severely deplete your levels of collagen. By consuming bone broth or collagen protein, you fortify your joints, bones, skin, hair, nails, gut lining, immune system and much more with the building blocks they need to regenerate your own collagen and age gracefully.

Bone broth: fleeting health food trend or ancient wisdom renaissance?

Answer: Maybe you’ve heard of bone broth because it’s become a trendy health food as of late. Maybe you’ve heard about “hipster” bone broth cafes that offer $6 cups of the collagen protein-rich beverage, but bone broth has been a staple health food since prehistoric times. And thankfully, more and more people are making the connection between diet and health, and incorporating superfoods like bone broth into their diets. Bone broth has never really gone out of style; it’s just been rediscovered recently.

How is LonoLife bone broth different than all other bone broths?

Answer: At Lonolife, we make our bone broths the old-fashioned way with the highest quality ingredients. Our bone broth is made with grass-fed, pasture-raised cattle bones (Beef Bone Broth) or, for our delicious Chicken Bone Broth, free-range pasture-raised poultry. The full list of herbs and spices we use to make our bone broths are a carefully guarded family secret that you need to taste to understand the difference. We also use cutting edge 21st-century food-processing technology to transform the bone broth into powder form for your convenience and for a smooth (not clumpy) finished product so you don’t have to worry about bone broth gelling.

Aren’t K-cups bad for the environment?

Answer: Not LonoLife’s! LonoLife searched far and wide for the best materials, and everything they make is 100% recyclable.

Will my coffee taste like broth and vice versa?

Answer: Nope! One of the most brilliant things about the k-cup system is that the pod is also the nozzle. As soon as you change pods, you’ve got a new nozzle, and therefore no cross contamination.

How does LonoLife make this stuff?

Answer: LonoLife sources the highest quality ingredients and cooks it exactly as you would at home. The only difference is they take that liquid and air dry it using the exactly same process that turns milk to whey for protein shakes.

Where’s a good place to drink bone broth?

Answer: Chicken Bone Broth is a great snack for the home and office, and college students all over the country and living off it. We can see why!

About Us :

Established in 2010, The Paleo Foundation was first organized for the purpose of improving the tolerability of the paleo diet, and to help adherents easily identify products that met its basic tenets.  Since then, thousands of products have been certified through the Certified Paleo, Keto Certified, and lab -tested Grain-Free Gluten-Free certification programs.

100% of  Paleo Foundation revenue is generated through certifications.  We do not accept donations, corporate sponsorships, or financially benefit from the sales of any certified products, product giveaways, or partnerships with industry contacts or retailers for the purpose of maintaining the integrity of an impartial certification standard.

Certified Paleo logo Certified Paleo:

Each certification program has a different set of standards.  Certified Paleo is the Paleo Foundation’s first, most popular, and highest level of certification for Paleo-compliant products.  Certified Paleo Products are products that contain Paleo ingredients, but may have some 21st-century processing or packaging methods allowing for shelf stability.

Grain Free Gluten Free Certified LogoGrain-Free Gluten-Free:

Grain Free Gluten Free Certified products are gluten-free and do not contain any grains of gliadin competitive residues.  All Grain-Free Gluten-Free products have undergone two rounds of audits, including lab tests, and a final review to become approved for the Grain-free Gluten-free Certified Program.

Keto Certified LogoKeto Certified:

The ketogenic diet is a restrictive, demanding diet that can be difficult to maintain, and tolerability of the ketogenic diet is the single most important factor limiting individual acceptance for initiation.  Therefore, improving the tolerability of the ketogenic diet is crucial to preventing diet discontinuation, warranting further investigation into methods for improving palatability, improving the availability and convenience of foods that are compliant with the ketogenic diet, as well as addressing cultural and social acceptance.

The Keto Diet product market may be in a unique position to improve tolerability, especially in social and cultural environments that typically feature carbohydrate-rich “special occasion” types of foods. In 2016, the Paleo Foundation launched the world's first Keto Certified program for products with standards that were developed for adherence to a classical ketogenic diet.
