Nuna Naturals

Nuna: n Native American word meaning “land”.

Nuna Naturals mission is to bring you the best tasting 100% organic products with the simplest natural ingredients. At the heart of our core values is a commitment to caring for the whole scope of the food chain which encompasses the wholesomeness of our products, the human treatment of animals, and sustainable practices that are optimal for the land and our environment.

The Nuna Naturals Way:

Taste: Our simple, high quality ingredients and balance of flavors come together in what we believe to be the best tasting deli meat and cheese. We value the taste that is sourced from the quality of raw ingredients and our grass fed ground beef and steak reflects the quality of its local territory.

Animal Welfare: We believe in providing the land and animals we manage with the best possible facilities to source the very optimum quality products. Our animals are treated humanely, have more roaming space than the industry standard and are fed the diet nature intended for them.
Environmental Impact: Our animals have free range access to outdoor areas that provide natural sunlight and fresh air. The practice of grass fed diet besides space to roam is optimal for our environment since the grass absorbs the toxins that are produced through animal waste.

Organic Commitment: All of our feed and land are Organic Certified, this provision ensures the optimal quality for the land and animals we raise and in turn impacts the safety and nutrition of the product we provide for our customers.

Health Benefits: Free of antibiotics, common growth hormones and GMO, our products also omit potentially dangerous additives and mystery ingredients to bring consumers a clean, wholesome variety. Rich and healthy diet for our animals specially grass fed cows allow us to obtain higher level beta carotene, omega 3’s and Vitamin E.

Domestic Source:  Sustainability, environmental impact and food safety are optimized when animal products are sourced domestically and can be traced to their origins. All of our cows and poultry are born and raised in the USA. Every product consumed can be sourced to optimum in quality of land used, feed given and humane treatment.

Do your products contain any GMO's?

Answer: Our products do not contain any genetically modified ingredients. By USDA standards, the use of GMO's is prohibited in organic products. This means that our meat is raised on GMO-free certified organic land and is fed a non-GMO, completely organic diet.

What is the difference between a "natural" product and an organic product?

Answer: While the ability to term a product "natural" by USDA labeling requirements is met by the end product being minimally processed and containing no artificial ingredients, the organic certification is much more thorough and clearly defined. "Natural" says nothing about the farm practices or how an animal is raised. Organic, on the other hand, ensures that the land is certified organic, animal welfare standards are enforced, and that a product is completely free of antibiotics and hormones, as well as being raised on a more sustainable, non-GMO, fully organic diet. This distinction is why we have chosen to maintain a completely organic line of products.

What is carrageenan and why do you leave it out of your deli products?

Answer: Carrageenan is a seaweed extract that is used in some deli meat products and serves to control the texture and acts as a water-holding ingredient. Although it is an approved ingredient under the USDA's organic standards, we believe that it is not only unnecessary, but recent research shows that it may adversely affect gastrointestinal health. In comparison to deli meats that use water holding ingredients, our product contains more actual meat per ounce.

About Us :

Established in 2010, The Paleo Foundation was first organized for the purpose of improving the tolerability of the paleo diet, and to help adherents easily identify products that met its basic tenets.  Since then, thousands of products have been certified through the Certified Paleo, Keto Certified, and lab -tested Grain-Free Gluten-Free certification programs.

100% of  Paleo Foundation revenue is generated through certifications.  We do not accept donations, corporate sponsorships, or financially benefit from the sales of any certified products, product giveaways, or partnerships with industry contacts or retailers for the purpose of maintaining the integrity of an impartial certification standard.

Certified Paleo logo Certified Paleo:

Each certification program has a different set of standards.  Certified Paleo is the Paleo Foundation’s first, most popular, and highest level of certification for Paleo-compliant products.  Certified Paleo Products are products that contain Paleo ingredients, but may have some 21st-century processing or packaging methods allowing for shelf stability.

Grain Free Gluten Free Certified LogoGrain-Free Gluten-Free:

Grain Free Gluten Free Certified products are gluten-free and do not contain any grains of gliadin competitive residues.  All Grain-Free Gluten-Free products have undergone two rounds of audits, including lab tests, and a final review to become approved for the Grain-free Gluten-free Certified Program.

Keto Certified LogoKeto Certified:

The ketogenic diet is a restrictive, demanding diet that can be difficult to maintain, and tolerability of the ketogenic diet is the single most important factor limiting individual acceptance for initiation.  Therefore, improving the tolerability of the ketogenic diet is crucial to preventing diet discontinuation, warranting further investigation into methods for improving palatability, improving the availability and convenience of foods that are compliant with the ketogenic diet, as well as addressing cultural and social acceptance.

The Keto Diet product market may be in a unique position to improve tolerability, especially in social and cultural environments that typically feature carbohydrate-rich “special occasion” types of foods. In 2016, the Paleo Foundation launched the world's first Keto Certified program for products with standards that were developed for adherence to a classical ketogenic diet.
