After a visit to New York, where we witnessed the sale of thousands of pounds of sausage with “peppa’s and onions”, we decided link up some of my Nana’s sausage to sell at the 4th of July Festival in Crested Butte back in 1990. One Kitchen Aid, 12 hours, and 400 links later we were ready to go. Armed with homemade bread, sautéed peppers and onions and our prized links, made using my Nana’s recipe, we set up our booth, put up a sign, and opened shop. Four hours later we were sold out!
Today our families Natural Tradition lives on! Mulay’s Sausage is carefully crafted according to a centuries-old family recipe from Sicily, lovingly passed down through the generations. Simple, premium quality ingredients and a passion for out-of-this-world taste is what makes our products stand out.

How long can I keep my sausage in the refrigerator?
Answer: 15 days from the time it is thawed. It can stay in the freezer up to a year for maximum flavor... but really, don't save it! Eat it!
How do you cook it?
Answer: If the product you purchased is fresh, cooking instructions are on the inside of every package. If it’s frozen, defrost for about an hour and then follow the package directions.
Can you refreeze it again and for how long?
Answer: Make sure you label it so that you use it right away once defrosted.
No expiration date!
Answer: Did you purchase the product in the refrigerated or frozen section? *Frozen – there will not be an expiration date on the package. It is good for 15 days, unopened in the refrigerator or you can put it back in the freezer for a year +. *Refrigerated– What store did you buy it from? They are responsible for putting a code date on the product. IF you have any questions with the freshness, please call or return the product to the store for a replacement. Let them know that they did not CODE DATE the product. Please leave us a message at 970-349-1423 ext. 104 with the stores name and location so that we can follow up with the management. Thank you!
Where is your pork raised?
Answer: Small farms in the mid-west, primarily Iowa.
Are they humanely raised?
Answer: Absolutely! We have visited the farms and make sure that all of our animals are raised responsibly and in the most humane way possible.
What are the pigs fed?
Answer: They are fed a vegetarian diet rich in grain, soy, and protein.
Where is your sausage processed?
Answer: In Texas and Iowa.
What are the casing made out of?
Answer: Natural hog intestine.

Established in 2010, The Paleo Foundation was first organized for the purpose of improving the tolerability of the paleo diet, and to help adherents easily identify products that met its basic tenets.
